Happy birthday, Ms. Opal Lee! 🎉
Juneteenth was born right here in Texas, in Galveston, on June 19, 1865.
Ms. Opal spent decades making sure the rest of America knew the story of freedom that began in our state.
Today, we celebrate the Grandmother of Juneteenth.
